We are currently looking for experienced, analytical and highly motivated person for the position of Director Financial Controls
Key responsibility of the role is to establish an appropriate internal control and financial reporting environment within AMEA region along with the implementation of appropriate policies and procedures including authorisation limits and maintenance of the accurate financial reporting in line with Ball Group accounting policy. This role is one of the main finance contacts into the Global Corporate Headquarters.

Responsibilities:

Internal control environment
Establish framework for an appropriate internal controls environment within the sector including
• Develop and maintain an appropriate authorization matrix in conjunction with the Ball Group authorization matrix.  Ensure compliance with an appropriate authorization matrix
• Implementation and compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements
• Introduce, maintain and ensure compliance with sector policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with Ball Corporate financial policies and procedures
• Understanding of the financial risks faced by the business including foreign currency and metal exposures and draft appropriate procedures to manage the risks
• Regular visit to the plants to support and check compliance with sector and group guidance. This activity involves close liaison with all the Plant Managers and Plant Finance Managers as well as key personnel in all other departments including commercial, sales and supply chain.
• Financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with Ball Group accounting policies and procedures
• Key point of contact to determine appropriate accounting treatment for complicated financial transactions
• Quality of month end close
• Ensure Hyperion reporting suite is updated in line with the requirements from the Corporate team and leverage it for management reporting purposes
• Accounting reporting requirements around equity JV investments
• Internal and external audit
• Ensures external auditors sign off on a quarterly basis within the agreed timeframe for Group reporting
• Regular coordination with plant external audit teams
• Coordination with internal audit including planning the audits, attending closing meetings and follow-up of internal audit recommendations

• New business
• Ensure appropriate control environment is maintained at all stages for a new business.
• Work closely with the integration team to ensure an appropriate finance integration plan has been developed and implemented.

• People management
• Provide finance function leadership to the plant finance teams
• Identifies and encourages developmental opportunities for finance employees at plants

• Support and participation in the regional projects, as needed

Qualifications:
  • Relevant Degree, advanced knowledge of US GAAP with strong accounting & control skills
  • Recognized Accounting Professional Accreditation is a significant advantage
  • Experience in manufacturing environment in B2B or FMCG industry is a must
  • Impeccable integrity and ethics
  • More than 10 years of proven financial experience in a multinational and multi-cultural business and team
  • Significant experience with working within ERP environment, preferably SAP
  • Ability to work cross functionally and manage teams without direct reporting lines• Managing within a multi-national finance environment 
  • Experience of working with executive/board level members
  • Financial reporting and accounting expert under IFRS
  • Results management within a multi-currency environment
  • Highly effective communication, presentation and relationship management skills
  • Great sense of priorities in order to meet deadlines
  • Commercial awareness
  • The credibility and gravitas to influence at senior levels
  • Self-starter
  • Able to build strong relationships across country borders

 

 

 

The role will be based in Belgrade, Serbia with up to 20% travel time mainly in AMEA region.
